•    To work alongside existing team in a busy manufacturing environment.

•    Able to use spec sheets to complete the job.
•    Using your own initiative.
•    Applying good housekeeping.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

•    Must have minimum one year experience, (2 years desirable).
•    Forklift driving licence desirable, although not essential.
•    Available to work flexible hours when required.
•    Must have good English oral and written skills along with understanding Health and Safety.
•    Willing to work as part of a team, able to work together and maximise production.

•    Must have good English oral and written skills along with understanding Health and Safety.
•    Willing to work as part of a team, able to work together and maximise production.
•    Competent on reading technical drawings.
•    Forklift driving licence would be useful, although not essential.

PURPOSE OF JOB: TO MANAGE AND MAINTAIN THE QUALITY HEALTH & SAFETY, ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ISO 9001, ISO 14001 AND OHSAS 18001
   
DUTIES

•    Ensure a safe working environment abiding by all necessary Quality & health and safety requirements and legislation
•    Uphold the professional and progressive image of the company at all times
•    Manage relationships with clients, contractors, other professionals, suppliers and site staff
•    Promote a culture of continuous improvement

QUALITY MANAGEMENT:

•    Manage SLURRYKAT’s Quality Management processes, procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with best practice, legislative and regulatory requirements
•    Manage the maintenance of ISO 9001 accreditation
•    Ensure that SLURRYKAT’s monitoring and reporting activities are in accordance with ISO 9001 standards

  • Define all incoming material inspection criteria and ensure all incoming parts conform.
  • Work with suppliers, including carrying out supplier audits, to ensure consistent quality of delivered parts.
  • Specify all manufacturing quality KPI’s and ensure suitable mechanisms are in place to collect the required data and action any required improvements.
  • Provide final quality assurance inspection of product prior to shipping.
  • Work with production engineering in analysing defective product and implementing necessary process or design improvements.
  • Carry out internal audits to ensure adherence to quality system recommending improvements where applicable.
  • Implement internal training scheme to ensure all manufacturing operators are suitably trained for the tasks required of them.
  • Create and champion a culture of continuous improvement within the Business.
  • Form part of the design process for next generation products.
  • Investigate and provide formal reporting on customer issues.

•    Identify quality management training requirements and assist with the procurement of specialist training for the SLURRYKAT Team
•    Develop and manage an effective customer feedback system, identifying corrective and/or improvement actions as necessary
•    Monitor agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), taking corrective actions as necessary
•    Attend Board Meetings as required to provide an update on SLURRYKAT’s Quality Management and performance
•    Ensure that the company’s processes meet national and international standards in terms of quality management

HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGEMENT

•    Maintain  SLURRYKAT’s Health and Safety day to day processes, procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements
•    Maintain the internal health and safety audit processes, taking corrective actions and providing training to members of the SLURRYKAT Team as required
•    Develop and deliver staff inductions, training and briefings as identified by planned works, current best practice and changes in legislation/regulations
•    Identify health and safety training requirements and assist with the procurement of specialist training for the SLURRYKAT Team
•    Lead any and all incident and accident investigations
•    Monitor agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), taking corrective actions as necessary
•    Attend Board Meetings as required to provide an update on SLURRYKAT’s Health and Safety Management and performance

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

•    Provide advice on legislative and regulatory requirements to the SLURRYKAT Management Team on all matters relating to environmental management to ensure compliance
•    Manage SLURRYKAT’s environmental management processes, procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria

•    2+ years experience as a Quality Health & Safety Manager  Manager
•    NEBOSH Certificate – Occupational Health and Safety
•    ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
•    Demonstrable record of achieving, managing and maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditations
•    Commitment to providing a high quality of service to customers – Point of contact with all customer Liaisons
•    Proven record of delivering on-time quality work within budget and with minimal supervision
•    Strong IT skills (including good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel)
•    Effective communication and interpersonal skills – with a focus on the big picture and long-term customer relationships
•    Unquestionable professional ethics and integrity
•    Ability to proactively resolve day-to-day operational issues and to effect process improvements
•    Strong organisational skills in terms of work planning and project management
•    Ability to work as a member of a team to meet demanding deadlines
•    Full UK driving license
