Job Summary:
SlurryKat is seeking a skilled and innovative Electronics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in schematic/PCB design, firmware development, hardware debugging, and compliance testing. This role requires proficiency in Embedded C/C++, FPGA development, and embedded Linux, along with some experience in designing electrical systems. You will be based at SlurryKat's Waringstown factory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, review, and develop schematic/PCB layouts, ensuring design for manufacturability and optimal performance.
- Assemble, debug, and test hardware prototypes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Develop firmware using Embedded C and C++.
- Understanding of Canbus Networks
- Conduct compliance and system testing
- Analyse project requirements, verify specifications, and define a hardware design path to meet objectives.
- Utilize Altium or similar for PCB design
- Develop and optimize embedded Linux solutions for microprocessors.
- Design and implement FPGA solutions using VHDL.
- Develop drivers and libraries for a range of technologies including Bluetooth, cellular (3G, 4G, 5G) modules, LORA and ADCs.
- Source hardware components, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality materials for product development.
- Run circuit simulations to validate designs before prototyping.
- Design custom PCB solutions, optimizing functionality and manufacturability.
- Utilize Altium Designer to create component and footprint libraries from datasheets, develop schematics, layout PCBs, and export Gerber and drill files for manufacturing.
- Design circuitry for a wide range of Agricultural applications
- Utilize version control systems, especially GitHub, for the development and maintenance of software and firmware.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in schematic and PCB design, with knowledge of best practices in design for manufacturability.
- Strong programming skills in Embedded C/C. other programming environments would be desirable.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer or similar.
- Experience developing drivers for wireless communication, imaging, and display technologies.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent analytical and project management abilities.
Key Details: 40hrs per week.
Monday-Thursday - 0800-1700, Friday 0800-1400
