"We run three tankers, two 3000G, one 3500G and we've got two 12 metre dribble bars with three BakPak™ reelers, 1000 metres in each one. We got three front reelers and three DODA pumps, one 5 inch which we just got, which was a game changer and two 4 inches which we've run for years," said Jack.
They regularly run more than one system at a time to keep on top of workload. "We've probably been flat out for the past three weeks now spreading every day." SlurryKat Dribble Bar Performance
Their two Premium Plus™ 12m dribble bars are a key part of their setup, mainly used on an umbilical system. "The 12m dribble bar would be my favourite bit. Just easy to use, easy to maintain and it does the job well. We've had quite a few 12 dribbles from SlurryKat."
With the latest SlurryKat macerators fitted, they've seen a clear lift in performance, especially on slopes. "When you go on hills there, it comes out the dribble bar a lot better… it's a lot more even and it's just a whole lot better."
They also run a splash plate attachment for added flexibility, as all SlurryKat equipment is interchangeable and works together without extra attachments or connections. "One of the dribble bars has a splash plate attachment to it, so we can splash plate on stubbles. You can go from splash plate to dribble bar in a matter of minutes, rather than going back to the yard, unhitching the dribble bar, putting the splash plate on. It's just quick and ready to go."
Pumping Output That Makes a Difference
Bakers Farms rely on their high-performance DODA pump, teamed with Oroflex hose, to keep output high and work rates fast. "DODA pumps, one 5-inch which we just got, which was a game changer and two 4-inches which we've run for years. We've got a couple of 5-inch pipes as well, you get a hell of a lot more cube out per hour and then it just means you can get field done faster and the job done quicker."
This gives them exceptional flow rates and allows them to keep moving and cover ground efficiently.
Tankers Simply Made Better
Alongside the umbilical system, the SlurryKat tankers play an important role in keeping the whole operation running smoothly. They're built with day-to-day practicality in mind. "The SlurryKat tankers are easy to maintain. The axles are easy to get to; brakes are easy to do and people that use them like them because they're simple to use."
The newer machines fitted with ISOBUS also help with accuracy and make record-keeping far easier. "This one's got ISOBUS on it. It records the data a lot better, so it tells you how much you've spread in a total. With this, it saves you a bit of time."
